The Founder
I'm David Semerad.
Before I failed publicly... I succeeded quietly.
I helped build STRV early on. I learned how real companies grow. How teams scale. How execution beats ideas. How confidence is built through repetition and discipline.
Those years gave me skill, experience, and belief. They also gave me too much confidence.
I took what I learned and launched Mindzero with a big vision. Impact. Community. Growth. I moved fast. I trusted my instincts. I believed momentum would solve everything.
It didn't. I failed.
Not because I didn't work hard. Not because I didn't care. But because confidence slowly turned into blind spots. Because fear hid behind speed, optimism, and big thinking. Because I didn't slow down when I should have.
I lost money, time, certainty, and parts of my identity. I also lost the illusion that past success guarantees future clarity.
What I gained instead changed how I build, decide, and lead.
I learned how fear actually shows up in founders:
